Gauge and absolute pressure differ by one atmosphere. These are straight unit conversions and assume both sides use the same reference.

01 — How to use Scientific Unit Converter

1 Pick a domain Pressure, energy, radiation, luminance, magnetism, amount of substance, viscosity or charge — the quantities everyday converters leave out.
2 Choose the units Each domain lists the units genuinely in use for it, including the legacy CGS ones such as poise, gauss and erg that still appear in older literature.
3 Read the result Ten significant figures by default, switching to scientific notation where a decimal form would be unreadable — which for these quantities is often.
4 Check the caveat Several domains carry a note where the units are not as interchangeable as the arithmetic suggests. Radiation is the important one.

02 — Getting good results

Gray and sievert are not synonyms Both are joules per kilogram and convert one-to-one, but gray measures energy absorbed and sievert weights it for biological effect. The weighting factor is 1 for X-rays and gamma, and up to 20 for alpha particles — so equating them is only safe for the former.
Gauge pressure is not absolute pressure A tyre gauge reading 32 psi means 32 above atmospheric, or about 46.7 psi absolute. These are straight unit conversions and assume both sides use the same reference; getting that wrong is a whole atmosphere out.
Calorie means two different things The thermochemical calorie is 4.184 J. The Calorie on food labelling is a kilocalorie, a thousand times larger. This tool uses the small calorie and lists the kilocalorie separately.

03 — Questions

No. All the factors are built into the page, and the arithmetic runs in this browser tab.
